History of Josephine
Swan 46/053 was delivered to Sweden as a novel in 1986 under the name Clarissia. In 1988 she was sold to Norway where she was named Carissma. 1992, she again sailed Swedish waters, in Skåne, now under the name of Josephine Torekov. In 1998, she was facing a major rebuilding and reconstruction at Nautors Service Center in Kokkola, Finland. The keel was converted into a shallow, less depth model. The rear cockpit was given a new separate entrance and lock-down to the aft cabin. Also, the electric winches where moved, for an easier handling by the helmsman. In 2004 she was sold to Mr. Ola Hallman in Kokkola, who previously worked as sales manager at Nautor Swan. Significantly, Ola sold the boat new in 1986 and has now simply bought back her (which indicates that the boat must have been something beyond the ordinary!). Ola did some major renovation work on her between 2004 and 2008. Among other things, the rig was painted white and the Swan characteristic stripes on the outside of the hull received new blue color! 2008 the boat was for sale and I had the opportunity to buy her and I now named her Josephine af Gåshaga. This Swan 46 has sailed only in the Scandinavians water, mainly in the Baltic Sea. She has been winter stored ashore under cover.
